Nigeria and other participating countries will learn their group opponents as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) conducts a new draw for the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations later on Sunday.
The draw ceremony will take place at the headquarters of Africa’s football governing body in Cairo, Egypt.
Seven-time champions Nigeria are among the seeded teams, alongside hosts Egypt and defending champions Senegal, Heritage Times HT reports.
CAF decided to conduct a fresh draw following Côte d’Ivoire’s withdrawal as hosts of the biennial competition.
The West African nation announced its withdrawal just weeks before the tournament’s scheduled kick-off.
Egypt, which hosted the last edition, swiftly stepped in to host the competition.
The 13 qualified teams will be split into three groups, Group A with five teams, and Groups B and C with four each.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarter-finals, along with the two best third-placed sides.
