Nigeria’s Yellow Greens secured the qualification ticket to the African qualifiers for the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup in Namibia next year.
The Nigeria side has been posting impressive performances since the start of the sub-regional qualifier in Kigali, Rwanda winning its first five matches.
They faced their 6th game against another impressive side Tanzania but the game ended abruptly due to the heavy downpour.
The game was in the second innings, with Nigeria bowling just 4.3 overs.
Nigeria batted in the first innings of the game and posted 101 runs for 10 wickets in 19.4 overs, leaving the Tanzanians to chase before rain ruined the game.
Both countries moved up to 11 points each, with Nigeria sitting on top due to a better net run rate.
Nigeria and Tanzania have now joined Kenya and Rwanda in the African qualifiers in Namibia next year.
