A political Chieftain and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman at Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, Sunday Zaka, has died.
Zaka, popularly known died early Saturday morning in an accident while on his way to his residence in Kuje, a suburb of Abuja.
He died alongside his personal security after some party activities at the city center.
The family is yet to confirm the unfortunate incident but a chieftain of the party, Michael Kpatuba, broke the news via a post on his Facebook page on Saturday morning, just as people were heading to their polling unit to vote, Heritage Times HT reports.
Meanwhile, serving corps members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) are protesting non-payment of their training allowances.
Some, though anonymous, are foot-dragging in proceeding to the polling unit where they are posted.
The Presidential and National Assembly elections have witnessed surprise delay in some parts of the country.
In some areas, INEC officials were yet to arrive as at 10am, Nigerian time.
Neither INEC, nor NYSC officials have reacted to this development.
