Employees of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) have protested the appointment of Tola Odeyemi as the agency’s Chief Executive Officer/Post Master General.
The workers on Monday shut down the head office of the service situated in Abuja, the nation’s capital, barring the CEO from accessing the complex.
They insisted that the appointment of Odeyemi came against their wish.
Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale had last week announced that the President made some changes in the leadership of communication agencies, which equally includes NIPOST.
Moments after Odeyemi’s appointment, there were reports that the sacked Post Master-General, Adeyemi Adepoju had been recalled.
Adepoju was equally seen in a viral video addressing some workers who claimed President Tinubu had brought him back.
The aggrieved workers had said they preferred to work with the reportedly reinstated Adepoju, even as they chanted solidarity songs for him.
