With few days to the kick-off of the 2024/25 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, there are indications that referees will get increment in their match allowances.
Also, Heritage Times HT gathered that the league’s match officials will have to fly to distant League venues.
According to the League organisers, outstanding match allowances in the last have been paid referees.
Chairman of the country’s apex league, Gbenga Elegbeleye, while speaking ahead of league resumption said already partnership discussion has been opened between NPFL leadership and airlines.
While disclosing sharing patterns as regards available sponsorship monies, Elegbeleye expressed optimism that there will noticeable improvements moving on.
The new league season is expected to officially resume August 31, 2024 with the match involving defending champions Enugu Rangers and FA Cup winners El-Kanemi Warriors.
