Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has dissolved the entire State Executive Council.
The dissolution which takes effect from today, Tuesday, May 24, 2022, was contained in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media.
It stated that the Chief of Staff to the Governor and Senior Special Assistants have also been relieved of their offices.
In the statement seen the Heritage Times HT, the Governor commended the members of Rivers State Executive Council for “their service and contribution to the development of the State” and “wished them the best in all their future endeavours.”
He also directed the former cabinet members to hand over to the most senior officers in their respective offices.
“Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has dissolved the State Executive Council with effect from Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
“The Chief of Staff to the governor and Senior Special Assistant (Protocol), have also been relieved of their office.
“His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, commends the members the Rivers State Executive Council for their service and contribution to the development of the State,” the statement read.
