The Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) has invited 28 players for camping in Abuja ahead of the national qualifiers for the 14th Africa Championship scheduled for Lusaka, the capital of Zambia.
Heritage Times HT reports that the Championship will hold between October 21 and 24, 2022.
The Secretariat of NSF in a statement said the Nigerian players are expected to converge in Abuja on September 27, while the qualifiers will begin the following day.
Top 24 ranked scrabble players and some wildcards will fight for 10 tickets to participate at the Pan African Championship in Lusaka.
Nigeria has won the past 12 edition of the Championship, losing only in 2022 as the runners-up.
Meanwhile, the Federation will also use the opportunity to hold its board meeting and organise a Abuja National Open Championship which is slated for October 1 and 2, 2022 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.
