Nigeria’s Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa scored two goals as Kano Pillars defeated Sunshine Stars 2-0 in one of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matches at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Kano State.
Musa, who returned to the NPFL alongside Super Eagles defender Shehu Abdullahi, announced his return to the league with a goal in the 5th minute from outside the box.
He then doubled the lead in the 51st minute to give Kano Pillars an added advantage in the game.
Musa could have made it a hat-trick from the spot in the 70th minute but saw his effort inches away from goal.
Meanwhile, the Management Board of Lobi Stars FC has appointed former Nigerian international Daniel Amokachi as the Technical Adviser of Lobi Stars, a NPFL club.
His appointment followed the sack of Coach Eugene Agagbe.
“Amokachi’s appointment also takes immediate effect, as the club seeks to revitalize its strategy and improve performance on the field.
“Additionally, all backroom staff have been relieved of their duties and instructed to reapply if they wish to continue with the club. They have been asked to hand over all club property in their possession to the club’s secretary immediately,” a statement by the club’s media team said.
Amokachi now becomes the third former class of 1994 teammates managing Nigerian club sides at the apex League.
Emmanuel Amuneke and Finidi George are the others.
While Amuneke heads the Technical squad of Heartland FC, George pilots Rivers United.
