Hon. Abbas Akoso, Member representing Ushongu Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, has called for improved security across the country, after his wife’s experience in the hands of kidnappers.
Mrs Akoso was kidnapped on her way back from her community where she went to render humanitarian services to widows on March 14, 2020, at about 3pm in Benue State, North Central Nigeria.
According to an eye witness report by her personal driver, her car was attacked by a group of unknown gunmen who abducted her and took her in their car, sped off, leaving the driver wounded and in a bad state of health.
Narrating the ordeal, her driver said they had approached the scene which seemed like a check point, slowed down, only for two cars to block them from the front and from behind.
Sadly enough, Mrs Akoso has also been subjected to another failed attempt in 2019.
