The Guinness World Records has announced that it will thoroughly review the record attempt made by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci, before confirming her as the official titleholder for the world’s longest marathon cooking session.
The announcement came after a Twitter user, @AlexanderDGreat, raised a question to the Guinness World Records regarding the delay in confirming Baci’s attempt.
As of 11:22 am on Monday, Baci has successfully cooked for an impressive duration of 91 hours and 21 minutes, surpassing the previous record set by Indian chef Lata Tondon in 2019, who cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds.
Baci commenced her incredible four-day cooking marathon challenge on May 11 at Amore Gardens and intends to continue cooking until she reaches the 100th hour.
“@GWR Why is Hilda’s cook-a-ton not being showcased or discussed? I can’t find any information on their social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube),” inquired AlexanderDGreat.
In response to the query, the Guinness World Records acknowledged that they are indeed aware of Baci’s record attempt, but stated that her confirmation as the new titleholder is contingent upon a thorough review of the evidence.
