Surprisingly, Nigeria goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, from her rare position, provided a crucial assist that ensured her club, Paris FC—a French Première Ligue women’s side—secured a 3-0 victory against Stade de Reims at the Stade Louis Blériot N°2, Bétheny.
It was an encounter that saw Nnadozie set up teammate Kessya Bussy, who scored the third goal for the travellers in the 62nd minute.
The Nigerian goalkeeper played the entire duration of the match as she bagged her first-ever assist in the league.
The result ensured Paris FC’s second position on the log with 33 points from 14 games, seven points behind leaders Lyon and four points ahead of PSG.
They will welcome Dijon on 9 February 2025 in their next league game.
Meanwhile, Nigeria forward Francisca Ordega scored her first-ever goal for Saudi Arabia Women’s Premier League side Al Ittihad after joining the club a few days ago from CSKA Moscow.
The goal was not enough as the hosts suffered a 3-1 loss to Al Hilal.
Al Ittihad, captained by fellow Nigerian Ashleigh Plumptre, now occupy seventh position on the log with 15 points after 13 games.
