Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council (FEC), has approved a 20 percent salary increase for men and women of the Nigerian Police Force.
Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, disclosed this to newsmen Wednesday at the State House, Abuja after the week’s virtual FEC meeting.
The meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Minister said Council also approved the review of Police Duty Tour Allowance to six percent, as well as the release of N1.2 billion for the payment of uninsured benefits.
He added that FEC further gave approval for the release of N1.2bn for the payment of outstanding allowances.
Dingyadi said the approvals were in line with President Buhari’s promise to enhance police personnel pay as demanded by #EndSARS protesters in October, 2020.
