Taiwo Awoniyi is presently the 4th highest goal-scorer in the Bundesliga after he scored a goal in Union Berlin’s 2-0 win over Wolfsburg on Saturday.
Awoniyi opened scoring for Berlin in the 49th minute and the goal propelled them to a resounding victory over Wolfsburg whom they overtook to 5th place on the log.
Samuel Chukwueze made his first appearance of the season for Villarreal in their 1-2 home loss to Osasuna on Sunday night.
Chukwueze replaced compatriot, Arnault Danjuma in the 78th minute in what was his first league game in over three months.
Simy Nwankwo opened his goal scoring account for Salernitana on Saturday.
Although his team eventually lost the game 1-2 to Spezia, Simy will be happy to have finally registered his name on the scoring sheet for Salernitana in the Serie A this season.
Meanwhile, Joel Obi provided the assist for Simy Nwankwo in the game.
Kelechi Iheanacho bagged an assist on Saturday as Leicester City beat Manchester United 4-2 at the King Power Stadium.
It was a bad day for William Troost-Ekong and Emmanuel Dennis of Watford as they both suffered a heavy 5-0 loss to Liverpool to begin the reign of Claudio Ranieri as their head coach.
Frank Onyeka had a decent outing on Saturday, as Brentford lost the London derby to Chelsea by a lone goal.
Alex Iwobi returned to action in Everton’s loss to West Ham at Goodison Park on Sunday as the Toffees lost by a lone goal to the Hammers from London.
It will be recalled that the former Arsenal man missed Everton’s last Premier League match, as well as the Super Eagles double header with Central African Republic due to injury.
Paul Onuachu will regret missing the spot kick that could’ve drawn his side level in the game they eventually lost but you can’t take anything away from the KRC Genk star man who has notched 9 goals in 10 games for his club this season.
Chidera Ejuke scored his third goal of the season to inspire CSKA Moscow to a 1-0 win at Ural on Sunday.
