President Muhammadu Buhari has taken the second dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at the State House, Abuja.
This was revealed by the official Twitter account of the Presidency.
“President @MBuhari receives the second dose of the AstraZeneca/Oxford #COVID19 Vaccine, at the State House, on May 29, 2021. #AsoVillaToday #YesToCovid19Vaccine,” the tweet read.

Mr Buhari had received the first jab of the vaccination on March 6 where he was presented with his COVID-19 vaccination card by officials of the Federal Ministry of Health, who supervised the exercise.

According to Dr. Anne Liu, infectious disease physician at Stanford Health, “the purpose behind the second dose is to make the antibody that is produced more specific.”
Liu said “it refine the memory response, and also to boost the levels of antibodies.”
