Nigerian music star Tekno has collapsed on stage during a concert in South Africa.
As of now, details about the singer’s current condition remain unclear.
Tekno’s health struggles are well known. In 2019, he revealed his battle with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) in a heartfelt interview with radio host Daddy Freeze. This condition severely impacted his vocal cords, making it challenging for him to speak and sing.
The artist underwent a surgical procedure called Esophagogastric dissociation to address the issue, but the journey has been far from easy. Tekno has spoken openly about the emotional and financial toll his health problems have taken on him, describing how the illness led him to a point of desperation and near mental breakdown.
“I saw like four doctors,” Tekno recounted. “I was exhausted, praying, and some people even suggested that my challenges were due to a contract dispute or some form of spiritual attack. I was losing my mind it was insane.”
Despite following various medical treatments, including a long-term regimen for acid reflux, Tekno’s condition persisted, keeping him away from his career for months. During this period, he faced significant financial strain, moving from one hospital to another without being able to perform or record new music.
Reflecting on his journey, Tekno shared how he sought relief in various ways, including traveling to London for a brief respite before returning to Nigeria.
Despite the setbacks, Tekno’s resilience has kept him in the spotlight, with his rise to fame in 2016 establishing him as a household name in Nigerian music. Fans and well-wishers are now anxiously awaiting updates on his health following this latest incident.
