The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has stated that Nigerians can now be issued international passport in 24 hours.
Aregbosola stated this in Abuja on Tuesday during the commissioning of the Nigeria Immigration Service Passport Express Centre in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The Minister said the country’s international passport could be obtained from the centre within 24 hours at the high premium service and 72 hours at the ordinary premium service, albeit with added value and at an extra cost.
According to him, the new automated fast passport processing centre is aimed at eradicating the challenges Nigerians face in the administration of international passport in the country.
He added that it was the vision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Nigeria Immigration Services (NIS) to build such centre in every local government area of Nigeria.
He lauded Buhari for his support to the ministry and service and also commended the leadership of Immigration and its technical partners for executing this initiative.
