Nigeria’s sole representative in the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup campaign, Enyimba, are set to face Black Bulls of Mozambique in a crucial matchday 4 fixture of the competition.
The match is scheduled for Sunday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, South-South Nigeria.
Currently sitting at the bottom of Group D with two losses and a draw from their opening three games, Enyimba are desperate to revive their campaign, with recently signed former Nigeria international, Brown Ideye, leading the attack.
This encounter is vital not only for revenge against Black Bulls—who defeated them 3-0 in the reverse fixture—but also to build momentum ahead of their final group stage matches against Egyptian giants Zamalek and Al Masry.
The Nigerian club has undergone a managerial change since their last continental outing, with Stanley Eguma, former Rivers United manager, now at the helm. Eguma previously guided Rivers United to the quarter-finals of the Confederation Cup last season.
Enyimba have struggled to find the back of the net recently, scoring only two goals in their last six matches across all competitions.
