Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will on Monday April 17 officially kickoff preparations ahead of the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup.
The Nigerian team, was placed third in the recently held U20 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Ahead of training resumption in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, Flying Eagles Head Coach, Isah Ladan Bosso has invited 39 players to the camp.
The global competition will take place in Argentina.
Penultimate week, World football-governing body, FIFA withdrew the hosting rights from Indonesia and handed the same over to Argentina, with assurances that the period scheduled for the championship May 20 to June 11, would remain unchanged.
Nigeria are one of four teams that will fly Africa’s flag at the finals, with the others being Senegal, The Gambia and Tunisia.
The invited players according to a press statement by the Nigeria Football Federation on Saturday night include; goalkeepers – Nathaniel Nwosu, Chijioke Aniagboso, Saheed Jimoh and John Otomblon.
The defenders are; Augustine Njoku, Ezekiel Bala, Muhammad Abdulsalam, Solomon Agbalaka, Israel Domingo, Benjamin Frederick, Femi Abubakar, Daniel Bameyi, Wisdom Udoh and Akinwale Akanbi.
Caleb Uchedikwu, Ogbelu Onuche, Daniel Daga, Samson Lawal, Bilyaminu Musa, Hitler Eniye, Muhammad Aminu, John Joshua, Musa Usman and Ibrahim Abdullahi make up the midfield pack.
The coach also called up forwards; Haliru Sarki, Kehinde Ibrahim, Shettima Abubakar, Jude Sunday, Obiaku Ifesinachi, Abdullahi Usman, Salem Fago, Godwin Ositgbami, Babangida Abubakar, Nurudeen Bala, Olaitan Fabode, Adams Olubi, Adamu Aliyu, Ibrahim Beji and Ayatollah Usman.
