Crystal Palace have identified Super Eagles of Nigeria and Rangers midfielder, Joe Aribo as an ideal replacement for Conor Gallagher.
Gallagher has established himself as a leading player under Patrick Vieira at Selhurst Park this term, scoring seven goals and setting up three more in 19 Premier League appearances.
The 22-year-old is expected to be handed opportunities at parent club Chelsea next term, and Vieira is already thought to be making contingency plans for the 2022-23 season.
According to The Sun, Palace have earmarked Aribo as a priority signing for the summer window, with Sporting Director Dougie Freedman in attendance to watch him in the recent Old Firm defeat to Celtic.
Aribo has less than 18 months left to run on his deal with the Scottish champions, and the report adds that Palace are ready to fork out Rangers’ asking price of £10m.
The 25-year-old has banked six goals and five assists in 22 Scottish Premiership appearances for Rangers this term and boasts a total of 23 goals and 21 assists in 125 matches for the club since making the move from Charlton Athletic in 2019.
Recall that Aribo played a huge role for Nigeria at the 2022 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, as the Super Eagles kept a perfect win record at the group stage with his assist in the opening clash against finalist Egypt leading to a crucial 1-0 win for Coach Augustine Eguavoen’s men.
