Nigerian gospel singer and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has been invited to minister at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast of US President-elect Donald Trump.
Trump, who made a surprise comeback in the November election, will be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States on 20 January 2025, in Washington, D.C.
“Let’s raise a sound in America,” Bassey, renowned for his inspirational worship music and the internationally recognised Hallelujah Challenge, wrote as the caption for a promotional poster on his Instagram page.
A nonpartisan, faith-based event, the prayer breakfast is held every four years to provide spiritual support to incoming US administrations. It is hosted by Reverend Merrie Turner at the Waldorf Astoria’s Presidential Ballroom.
“The Presidential Prayer Breakfast is a non-official and non-governmental event. It is a faith-based platform where intercessory prayers and worship are offered to God on behalf of the office of the president and the government of the nation.
“This event is held once every four years preceding the inauguration ceremony as a breakfast prayer meeting ahead of every new administration. Over the years, it has been attended by leaders and dignitaries from around the world,” Bassey stated further in the post.
Celebrated for his popular tracks like Imela, Onise Iyanu, and Olowogbogboro, Nathaniel Bassey has been lauded worldwide for his vibrant ministry and heartfelt voice.
