Nigeria’s Professional Premier League champions Rivers United, will on Wednesday March 1, 2023 trade tackle with Motema Pembe of Angola in the return leg of group B ongoing CAF Confederation Cup.
The Nigerian side will seek to consolidate their leadership on the group few days after defeating the Angolan club in Luanda.
In beating the club during the first leg action, ten-men Rivers United boosted their chances of reaching the knockout rounds of the continental club competition.
They now have six points from three matches in the group stage of the competition and could further improve their chances of progress with a win over Motema Pembe when both teams clash again in Nigeria.
ASEC Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire and Diables Noire from Congo are the other teams in this group.
Rivers United were thrashed 3-0 by ASEC Mimosas, but they recovered quickly from the defeat to beat Diables Noire in Portharcourt last week.
