Nigerian International, Victor Boniface, on Sunday survived a fatal car crash hours after he featured in the Bundesliga match.
Goal poarcher Boniface scored the decisive goal for Bayer Leverkusen in their 2-1 victory on Saturday.
Boniface’s safety from the shocking event has brought relief to fans and the football community, as he continues to play a vital role in Leverkusen’s impressive campaign this season.
Further details about the crash are yet to be disclosed, but Boniface is reportedly in stable condition.
Meanwhile, another Nigerian forward, Isaac Success, has joined the United Arab Emirates Football League club, Al Wasl.
Success linked up with the Cheetahs on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old last played for Serie A club Udinese as his contract with the Zebras was terminated by mutual consent in August 2024.
Success was on target four times in 79 league appearances for the Serie A club.
He previously played in Spain for Granada and Malaga as well as England for Watford.
