Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Lead Counsel to the incarcerated leader of indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, has confirmed that his client is physically present in court to face his trial.
Kanu was brought into the Court premises under heavy security convoy at exactly 8:07am on Thursday morning.
The IPOB leader is being prosecuted by the Nigerian Government on a 7-count amended charge bordering on allegation of terrorism, treason, money laundering.
He is expected to take his fresh plea before trial Justice Binta Nyako.
Meanwhile, a British envoy in Nigeria has arrived the court to witness the trial of Kanu who is also a British citizen.
Though his lead counsel has been granted access into the courtroom, other lawyers, journalists and representatives of apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohaneze Ndigbo, were barred from entering the court premises.
