Nollywood veteran actor and filmmaker, Jim Lawson Maduike, has passed away.
Abubakar Yakubu, the national secretary of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), confirmed the tragic news on Saturday.
The Imo-born actor died breathed his last on Friday evening after reportedly complaining of body pains at around 12 pm.
“I have been able to confirm from Imo, where he comes from. I got his direct number but it’s not going through. It’s true that he died last night. It was said that he fell briefly ill. We are still awaiting more details,” Yakubu said.
Before his death, Maduike was a famous Nollywood actor, radio broadcaster, writer, voice-over artist, filmmaker and a television personality.
He worked with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Ray Power, and MINAJ FM.
He joined the film industry in 2004 where he starred in several films and has since then taken up roles in more than 150 Nollywood movies which include ‘Heartbeats’, ‘Royal Madness’, ‘Save the Prince’, and ‘Tomorrow Must Wait’.
Over the course of his acting career, Maduike played the role of a father, elder, uncle, traditional ruler, and husband in several movie projects alongside the likes of Ngozi Ezeonu, Ebele Okaro, Pete Edochie, and Chinwe Ntaluagu.
