Norwich City have been relegated from the Premier League following their 2-0 loss to Aston Villa.
Dean Smith’s men have fallen to defeat against his former side, coupled with Burnley’s 2-1 win over Watford which means the Canaries have now dropped down into the Championship.
Goals from Jack Cork and Josh Brownhill in the final 10 minutes turned that game around, however, and Norwich’s relegation to the Championship was confirmed.
Villa had taken a first-half lead against Norwich through a deflected strike from Ollie Watkins. Danny Ings then added a second for Villa in added time.
Norwich were unable to survive in the Premier League after they won the Championship last season. This is a record sixth relegation from the Premier League.
They have won just one of their last 12 games.
With four matches left to play before the league wraps up, Leeds United and Burnley will hope to maintain their top-flight status next season as both teams are just five points clear off relegation zone.
