Kwara United goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba says he looks forward to facing former Super Eagles team mate Ahmed Musa in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Musa, 28, rejoined Kano Pillars on a short-term contract for the remaining part of the season on Tuesday.
Aiyenugba too rejoined Kwara United at the start of the season after a long spell abroad, featured for four different clubs in Israel.
“It was a good decision and I want to welcome Ahmed Musa back to the NPFL as I am sure that he will definitely enjoy his stay at Kano Pillars because he is not new there,”Aiyenugba revealed.
“We were teammates for years in the Super Eagles and very close and all I can say about Ahmed Musa is that he is a gentle and humble person who always want peace.
“I can’t wait for me to face him in the league when my team Kwara United tackle Kano Pillars. It will be interesting.”
Kano Pillars confirmed that the Super Eagles skipper has re-signed with them until the end of the 2020/21 football season.
In a statement from the office of the chairman of the club, Surajo Shuaibu Jambul agreed to sign Musa until the end of this current campaign.
“Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has sensationally returned to Kano Pillars FC for the reminder of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League season (NPFL),” the statement read.
“Musa previously played for the Pride of Kano in 2009 where he ended the season as the top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League with 18 goals before moving to VVV-Venlo in the Netherlands.”
Musa had been without a club since departing Saudi Arabia club Al Nassr in October last year.
