The Confederation of African Football, (CAF) has confirmed that six countries has officially declared interest to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2027.
According to CAF in a statement via its official website on Thursday April 27 2023, Algeria, Botswana, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, successfully submitted bidding interest.
Out of the six nations, four bids were received as; Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania submitted jointed bid, while the other three are bidding separately.
The statement also revealed that the deadline for Member Associations to submit their final bid, including all bidding and hosting documents, (hosting agreement, host cities agreement, government guarantees, etc.) which should be duly signed, is on May 23, 2023.
The continent’s Football governing body, also slated June 1 to July 15, 2023, as inspection period.
Already, AFCON qualifier for the 2023 edition has entered final stages, with Cote d’ivoire scheduled as host in January 2024, Heritage Times HT reports.
