After somewhat a cantercarous season in Ligue 1, Argenina captain and 2022 World Cup winner Lionel Messi has already packed his bag, ready to leave PSG.
This was confirmed by the club Manager Christophe Galtier on Thursday, ahead of his side’s final Ligue 1 match of the season.
Coach Galtier said Messi’s last game with French champions PSG will be against Clermont Foot on Saturday June 3, 2023.
PSG clinched a record 11th Ligue 1 title last week, with Messi breaking Cristiano Ronaldo’s scoring record for Europe’s top five leagues with his 496th career league goal.
Messi Links Outside PSG
Messi has been linked with a host of clubs, including a surprise return to Barcelona after two years away.
There is also a blockbuster move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, just as a switch to MLS side Inter Miami is also likely.
Loggerhead With Club, Fans
In May, Messi earned suspension from PSG after he embarked on a trip out France without obtaining official permission to do so while the league season is still on.
He has also struggled to replicate his country’s form for his club, especially after winning the Golden Ball at last year’s soccer mundial in Qatar.
Benzema Real Decision
Just like the Argentine, France star Karim Benzema is most likely exiting Real Madrid in the summer after several seasons of glorious achievements.
It is already being speculated that Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane will be an immediate replacement for Benzema at Madrid.
Benzema signed for the La Liga giants in the 2009 following his impressive stint at Lyon.
Heading To Saudi Arabia
After winning a multitude of honours at Madrid, including five Champions League and four La Liga titles, he is now set to bid farewell – and is expected to seal a lucrative switch to Saudi Arabia.
The striker has proven to be a huge talent in front of goal during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, scoring 353 goals across all competitions.
Benzema also won last year’s Ballon d’Or title, putting him amongst the greats of world football
