French international Kylian Mbappe has now penned a five-year deal with Real Madrid after he left Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
This was disclosed by Real Madrid management in a brief statement on Monday evening.
The statement said, “Real Madrid CF and Kylian Mbappe have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons.”
Formalised Move
Mbappe’s move was confirmed days after the Spanish giants lifted their 15th Champions League trophy, beating Borussia Dortmund at Wembley on Saturday evening.
At 25, Mbappe joined Madrid after several years of speculation suggesting a move was imminent, including both of the previous two summers.
On each occasion, Mbappe ultimately committed his future to PSG, where he became a figurehead after the departure of fellow superstars Lionel Messi and Neymar.
His first competitive match for Real Madrid is in the UEFA Super Cup.
He can lift his first trophy with the club in his first competitive match.
Club Achievements
Mbappé is PSG all-time leading scorer with 256 goals, and last season he won the league title, the French Cup and the French Super Cup.
In seven years at the French club, he has amassed 17 trophies – League (6), French Cup (4), French Super Cup (5) and League Cup (2).
Individual Records
On an individual level, Mbappé has been included four times in the FIFA FIFPro World 11 (2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023) and four times in the UEFA Champions League team of the season (2016/17, 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2021/22).
In addition, in 2017 he picked up the Golden Boy award for the best player under the age of 21 and the UNFP (National Union of Professional Footballers) has named him best player in the French championship on five occasions (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024).
