Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has been awarded the Budweiser’s Premier League goal of the month for November.
The 24-year-old Nigeria international struck a stunning goal against West Bromwich Albion to emerge the winner of the prestigious prize.
The defender has now become the third Fulham player to have been awarded the top award after Jean Michael Seri and Andre Schurrle in 2018/19.
Aina told Premier League website: “It was a good strike. It came on to my left and I just felt comfortable to strike it as hard as I could. It was good for the team.
It lifted our spirits and we’ll try to build on that.” Only Chelsea and Tottenham have had more winners since the award started in 2016/17, a feat all the more impressive given this is just Fulham’s second season in the competition during that time.
Aina’s goal was chosen by a panel of experts combined with a public vote, beating seven other contenders.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has been named Premier League manager of the month for November.
The 57-year-old emerged winner of the prestigious award after guiding North Londoners to three wins and one draw in the month under review.
Spurs got the better of Brighton and Hove Albion in their first game of the month after beating them 2-1 in the former White Hart Lane Stadium.
