The powers-that-be at Manchester United are considering sacking Manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to reports
The Red Devils have taken just one point from their last four Premier League games and fell to a humiliating 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Solskjaer described the drubbing as the “darkest day” of his career, but his job was initially thought to have been secure, in spite of reports that United players have been questioning whether the Norwegian is the right man to take the club forward.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Sunday’s humbling has given the Man United hierarchy more food for thought, and they are now contemplating a change in management.
The report adds that ‘serious consideration’ is being given to the possibility of Solskjaer being given the boot before Saturday’s battle with Tottenham Hotspur, with Antonio Conte thought to be the main contender to take over.
Man United have taken 14 points from their first nine games of the 2021-22 Premier League season to sit seventh in the table, scoring 16 goals and conceding 15 so far.
