While debates are going on as to when the 2022 ASUU strike would be called off, Nexford university celebrated 400 graduates at the graduation ceremony held in Lagos on Saturday.
Those in attendance included Ebuka Obi Uchendu, CEO of Sterling Bank Abubakar Suleiman, Olamidun Ogundoyin, Teni the Entertainer, and Joe Abah.

In his opening remark, the CEO & Founder of Nexford University, Fadl Al Tarzi stated “In the future, the most successful people will be those who embrace the fact that one’s physical location, gender, and even race should no longer determine whether you can move ahead in your career. He encouraged the graduates to be persistent, to show grit, and to develop their stories because the future is a global grid and once they are on the global grid they will be poised to change Nigeria forever!”
During the ceremony, Ebuka Obi Uchendu who hosted the show was proud to announce that the recorded minimum CPGA in the class of 2021/22 session was 3.5, a remarkable achievement. The University which also has a record of being the fastest growing university in the world, definitely came to the rescue of Nigerians when they needed it the most.
In her speech the Country Director, Olamidun Majekodunmi-Ogundoyin said, “Today is a clear illustration that we are living up to our mission here in Nigeria which is to provide high-quality, accessible, and affordable education and positioning learners in front of unique, uplifting career opportunities- fostering post-degree upward mobility.”
The CEO of Sterling bank, one of Nexford’s biggest partners, Mr. Abubakar Suleiman, also spoke at the event, highlighting why he was moved to partner with the university. He explained that the university’s values aligned with his and the university presented a great opportunity to build his staff and Nigerian youths.

Dr. Joe Abba, the keynote speaker emphasized the opportunities a degree can present, he said “The higher the degree you have, the better the chances you have, unfortunately, the world is just wired that way, so do give yourself as much of a chance as you can,
Stakeholders have also applauded the university for making the cost of study affordable in addition to the flexibility in the mode of payment. While the graduates could not withhold their joy for the successful completion of their studies which they say is an opportunity they have longed for.
30-year-old Peter Adesanya who bagged distinction in E-commerce said that it was a rewarding experience that has assisted him in securing employment with a reputable organization.
Also, Oluwatosin Davies Ajayi, 36, was full of gratitude to the university for the experience which he said was educative in terms of business presentation, analysis, and gaining entry into the global market as a business person.
Notable guests who spoke at the event urged the graduating students to deploy the vast knowledge that they have acquired in contributing to the development of the country while remaining good ambassadors of the prestigious academic institution.
