Nigerian-born players – Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze and Bukayo Saka, were on song on Sunday March 19, 2023 for their respective clubs in Europe, hours before heading out for international engagements.
Both Osimhen and Saka fired braces for Napoli in Italy’s Serie A versus Torino and Arsenal of English Premier League against Crystal Palace.
Chukwueze scored once for Spanish La Liga side Villarreal in their match against Osasona.
While Osimhen and Chukwueze have full allegiance with Nigeria, Saka has pitched tent with England senior national team.
They have all been called to play for the various countries.
Talking about the leagues matches, Osimhen’s goals and solo assist ensured that, Napoli took another step towards the Scudetto with a dominant 4-0 win over Torino in Turin.
The victory takes Napoli 21 points clear of Inter, who face Juventus in the Derby d’Italia on Sunday night, while Torino remain ninth.
On the other hand, Arsenal’s Saka once again, move eight points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.
Chukwueze’s Villareal dominated play in the entire duration to win Osasuna 3-0.
At the international stage, Nigeria will face Guinea in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between March 22 and 27.
As at the time of filling this report, only four Super Eagles players have arrived their training camp in Abuja.
They are Moses Simon who plays for Nantes of France, Kevin Akpoguma (Hoffenheim), Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City of England).
