Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen has equaled the Serie A goal record held by the African trio of George Weah, Samuel Eto’o and Mohamed Salah after grabbing a brace in Napoli’s 2-1 comeback win against Udinese on Saturday.
Prior to the encounter, Osimhen had nine goals before adding to his tally which became the equalizer against Udinese and took him to 10 goals.
His 10th league goal made him the first Nigerian in history to reach double figures for two different seasons in Serie A (he scored 10 last season).
Also, he is now the fourth African player to hit double figures in two different Serie A seasons after Weah, Eto’o and Salah.
He went on to grab the winner which means he now has 11 goals in the Italian topflight this term.
Saturday’s win shot Napoli to summit of the table leveled points with AC Milan (63).
