Victor Osimhen’s Napoli kept their top-four ambition alive with a 2-0 victory over Fiorentina in Serie A match on Sunday.
The Nigeria international led the attack for Gennaro Gattuso’s men as Lorenzo Insigne’s strike and an own goal from Lorenzo Venuti handed them a crucial away win.
The 22-year-old could not add to his tally of 10 goals after 23 matches as he managed to register a shot on target before being replaced by Andrea Petagna in the 84th minutes.
Having gone two matches without finding the back of the net, Osimhen will be aiming to finish the 2020-21 Serie A campaign with a bang when Napoli host Hellas Verona the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Saturday.
The former Lille star is three goals away from equalling his best scoring record in Europe – when he scored 13 goals in 27 Ligue 1 matches last season.
With the result, Napoli moved to third position on the table with 76 points, one adrift fourth place AC Milan and Juventus.
