Former Italy forward, Luca Toni has backed Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen to continue with his new found form for Napoli.
Osimhen had a contrasting first season with Napoli, as he could only manage 10 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions despite going through some injury setbacks.
However, the Nigerian international appears to be firing from all cylinders this term, having registered eight pre-season goals, four against Anaunia, one against Pro Vercelli, two against Bayern Munich, and one against Pescara.
With the new season set to commence, Toni in an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport, as per Napoli Today, expressed optimism that the former Wolfsburg striker can deliver even more than his first year in Italy.
“I expect a lot from Osimhen; he has great potential: when he’s missing, it’s a different Napoli.
“He has power, speed, breaks defences. Spalletti will be able to make him perform at his best,” the World Cup winner added.
Napoli will begin their Serie A campaign with a home game against newly-promoted Venezia this weekend.
