Victor Osimhen was released after suffering several fractures to his face during the Serie A match between Inter Milan and Napoli, the club confirmed on Thursday.
The ‘Azzurri’ club reported this on their social media, in which they also thanked their opponents for their collaboration after the first medical assistance to the Nigerian international.
Three months of recovery awaits Osimhen, who will not be part of the Super Eagles squad to the 2021 AFCON tournament, which begins in January.
Napoli confirmed that he was released from the Ruesch clinic, where he spent the first two days after suffering several fractures to his face during a Serie A match against Inter.
The collaboration of the ‘nerazzurri’ medical services and their contacts in the city was transcendental, which is why the ‘azzurri’ dedicated a post to them on their Twitter profile as a way of thanking them.
The communication between the two clubs was key for the attacker to now focus on spending around two weeks resting.
“Victor Osimhen was released from the Ruesch clinic this morning (referring to Thursday 25th November) and has returned home. He will rest for 10 to 15 days before being reassessed. Stay strong, Victor,” reads the first of the club’s letters informing fans of the professional’s condition.
“Napoli and Dr. Raffaele Canonico would like to thank Inter Milan and, in particular, director general Giuseppe Marotta and Dr. Piero Volpi, as well as those who helped at Niguarda hospital in Milan, for their care and quick intervention following Victor Osimhen’s injury,” reads the tweet thanking Inter.
Osimhen has been Napoli’s standout performer this season, scoring nine goals in 14 appearances for the Serie A leaders.
