Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen fired a brace as Galatasaray beat Fenerbahçe 2-1 in a thrilling Turkish Cup quarter-final clash in Istanbul on Wednesday night.
Osimhen opened the scoring for Galatasaray in the 10th minute after being teed up by Barış Yılmaz.
The powerful striker doubled the advantage from the penalty spot three minutes before the half-hour mark.
Osimhen was booked in the 85th minute of the thrilling encounter and was replaced by Álvaro Morata four minutes from time.
The 26-year-old has so far registered 27 goals and five assists in 32 appearances for the Yellow and Reds this season.
Sebastian Szymański scored Fenerbahçe’s only goal of the game, while Bright Osayi-Samuel was an unused substitute for Fenerbahçe.
Osimhen’s exploits for Galatasaray have continued after he scored three goals in two matches for Nigeria’s Super Eagles in recent 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
