Nigerian international, Victor Osimhen will remain with Serie A Champions, Napoli, till 2026.
This is after he officially extended his contract with the Italian club on Saturday.
His previous contract was scheduled to expire in 2025.
Club Confirmation
However, Napoli have confirmed the extension of the forward’s contract on social media.
The club simply wrote, “together until 2026” with a picture of Osimhen and club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
Testaments Of A Goal Poacher
Osimhen managed 31 goals in all competitions last season when he led Napoli to win the league 33 years after.
His exploits later crowned him the Italian footballers’ association player of the year earlier this month, before emerging African footballer of the year.
Osimhen also earned a nomination for the Ballon d’Or, where he finished 8th, becoming the first Nigerian to make the top 10 of the Ballon d’Or voting.
Osimhen has continued his fantastic scoring record this campaign, having already netted seven goals in 12 league matches.
Shutting Down EPL Clubs’, Saudi Offers
Osimhen had reportedly attracted offers from Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and PSG.
He also turned down a big-money offer to move to Saudi Arabia in the summer.
