The coach of the Squirrels of Benin Republic Michel Dussuyer has issued a stern warning to the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of Saturday’s AFCON qualifying showdown.
Nigeria currently sit aloft Group L table with eight points from four games – one point better than their next opponents.
However, Dussuyer warned that his side will go all out for the maximum points when they lock horns with the three-time African champions.
He said: “We have respect for Nigeria but we also have out assets. We will approach the game with a lot of seriousness and determination.
“We know what we have to do. On Saturday our ambition is to win. It will not be an easy task but we have hopes.”
Either teams must win the fixture if they ever want to stand a chance of reaching the finals in Cameroon next year.
The numbers swelled in Super Eagles camp as goalkeeper Francis Uzoho and left-back Zaidu Sanusi linked up with their teammates on Tuesday morning.
Their arrivals increased the number of players at the team’s Eko Hotel camp to 20.
Rangers duo of Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun, Tyronne Ebuehi, Alex Iwobi, Chidozie Awaziem, Maduka Okoye as well as John Noble, Anayo Iwuala and Adeleke Adekunle all joined camp on Monday.
The players had a light training session on Tuesday morning with all the players participating and are expected to commence their first training session on grass this evening at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
