Nigeria has been awarded hosting right for the upcoming ParaVolley qualifier for all African teams ahead of the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, France.
This was disclosed by the President of ParaVolley Africa (PVA) Ehab Hassanein.
Hassanein said the 2024 ParaVolley Africa qualifiers which doubles as the 2024 Africa Sitting Volleyball Zonal Championships, will take place from January 29 to February 3, 2024, at the National Stadium in Lagos.
According to the President of ParaVolley Africa, draws for the Africa Sitting Volleyball Zone Championships will be staged on January 6.
Hassanein said 11 teams have confirmed their participation for the championship adding that Nigeria will participate in the men and women’s category.
He said, “ParaVolley Africa (PVA) will conduct the draw for the forthcoming Africa Sitting Volleyball Zone Championships on Saturday, January 6.

“I can confirm that the draw will be conducted via Zoom at the FRMSPSH Headquarters in Rabat, Morocco at 17:00 local time (GMT+1), with the tournament scheduled from January 29 to February 3 in the Nigerian city of Lagos.
“A total of 11 teams have confirmed participation for the competition, including Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Rwanda in the women’s tournament, and Egypt, Morocco, Libya, Kenya, Algeria, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Nigeria in the men’s tournament.
“The African Zone Championships will be the first of the two remaining Paralympic Games qualifiers in the 2024 World ParaVolley calendar. World ParaVolley’s last chance qualifier for the Paralympics in Paris will be held in Dali, China from April 3rd to 10th.”
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games sitting volleyball events will take place between August 29 and September 7 at the North Paris Arena.
