After two months in captivity, Pastor Bulus Yikura, who was freed by Boko Haram terrorists last Wednesday, has fled Chibok, Borno State along with his family.
The Pastor who was earlier given a seven-day ultimatum to live by the insurgents, reportedly fled the troubled region is search of a safer enclave.
It was gathered that Bulus, after observing a church thanksgiving in Pemi village, Chibok last Friday, left the community to another state in the North East.
It would be recalled that Pastor Yikura who was abducted on December 24, 2020, appeared in a video sent by Boko Haram terrorists, begging President Muhammadu Buhari, Borno State Government, and the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, to secure his release.
While it remains unclear whether any ransom was paid for his release, Yikura regained freedom on the final day of the deadline and was subsequently received by operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, in Maiduguri.
“Bulus came back to his wife and three children on Friday. It was a pleasant reunion. The whole church community welcomed him. He started moving all his property the same day, and he left Chibok. He has left Borno State.
“There was a big thanksgiving at his church in Pemi Village in Chibok. But in these circumstances, we advised him to relocate immediately. Chibok is still very vulnerable and the entire Borno State, as we speak. So, he is off to start a new life in another state,” a family source reportedly said.
