Pep Guadiola has penned a new two-year deal with Manchester City that will see him continue as the club’s boss until 2022.
Amid speculation about his future, Guadiola had seven months left on his contract at the Etihad before his decision to sign a new deal according to the confirmation by the Premier League club.
The former Barcelona gaffer has been in charge of the club since 2016 and has won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, three League Cups and two Community Shields so far.
With the club desirous of winning the Champions League for the first time; having fell at the brink on a number cases, the Spaniard would be expected to reinvent strategies that will help the club lift the much coveted trophy.
The Citizens are currently topping Group with nine points after winning their first three games.
Report added that chairman Khaldoon Mubarak explained that the management are happy with the qualities Pep Guardiola has shown at the Etihad since he joined them.
Meanwhile, Manchester City are currently occupying 10th position on the Premier League table with 12 points after seven games played so far.
