Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg seemed to have quickly put behind him an on-pitch row with Joshua Dasilva after the 22-year-old launched a nasty challenge on him six minutes from full-time in a Carabao Cup victory over Brentford.
The 25-year-old was left with blood spilling down his shin and had to be calmed down by his teammates as he remonstrated with the the English player.
Dasilva, who did not see the rest of the action, after he was sent off took to his social media to apologise to Hojbjerg for such a clumsy tackle.
He tweeted: ” Anyone that knows me, knows it was never intentional.. will learn from this”.
Replying to his tweet, the Spurs midfielder wrote: Of course you didn’t mean it. So don’t worry. I’m a viking and I am fine. But… You owe me a new shin pad.
“Be strong & keep working hard. Best of luck to you and your team. Big hug, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg”.
