Chelsea knocked Porto out of the Champions League following a 2-1 aggregate score to reach a record 8th semi-final – more than any other club in the England.
The Blue stole a 2-0 advantage from the reverse fixture at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, but the second leg appeared even more difficult.
Porto stunned Chelsea with a late goal in the second leg, but it was not enough to force the game into extra time.
Speaking after the game, Porto boss Sergio Conceicao insisted that his side was better than Chelsea over the two legs.
Conceicao said: “Our defensive performance was wonderful. We limited them as much as we could and we tried to score goals.
“We were superior in both matches but we lacked that bit of efficiency.
“I’m proud of our efforts in the competition overall but obviously not happy, because we have lost.”
