Arsenal’s Premier League title dream appear all over after the London club were thrashed 0-3 by Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.
This is as Manchester City held firm to clinching another English coveted crown after they subdued Everton 3-0 earlier on.
With the assured victory, City moved four points clear at the head of the table.
A fifth league defeat of the season left Arsenal on 81 points with two games remaining to City’s 85 with three left, and victory for Pep Guardiola’s side next weekend against Chelsea would wrap up City’s fifth title in six seasons.
Also, Europe’s elite club competition is the win City crave most and they will again face holders Real Madrid on Wednesday, with the semi-final tantalisingly poised at 1-1 after the first leg.
For Brighton, their indisputable triumph over gunners lifted them above both Aston Villa and Tottenham into sixth on 58 points, four behind fifth-placed Liverpool with one game in hand.
