Kenyan President William Ruto has assured citizens that the government is implementing robust measures to address youth unemployment in the country.
President Ruto stated that the government is heavily investing in vocational education to provide youth with market-ready knowledge, skills, and competencies.
Additionally, he highlighted the establishment of ICT Hubs nationwide to expose youth to lucrative digital jobs that are already transforming many lives.
Furthermore, the government is negotiating for more job opportunities abroad under the labor export program.
Ruto made these remarks on Thursday while officially opening a Technical and Vocational College and ICT Hub in Machakha, Bungoma.
Heritage Times HT recalls that in January, Ruto emphasized the need for all leaders to collaborate in creating jobs for unemployed youths. He reminded those in leadership positions that their roles are not a result of being special but rather a stroke of luck.
He urged them to consider the plight of the unemployed while serving.

“The leaders of Kenya, whether you are in the judiciary, legislature, or executive, must work together knowing that it is a privilege for us to serve. We are not better than those who don’t have the jobs.
“We are just lucky, and it is important for us to think about the millions of children and young people who have gone to school, have certificates, diplomas, and degrees but don’t have jobs,” Ruto said.
