Prince Harry, the Founder of Invictus Games, along with his wife Meghan, are scheduled to visit Nigeria soon in May 2024.
The Invictus Games are designed to honor and celebrate wounded, injured, and sick Servicemen and women from Commonwealth nations.
According to a statement released by Brig-Gen Tukur Gusau, the Acting Director of Nigeria’s Defence Information, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, His Royal Highness Prince Harry and Meghan, are set to embark on a visit to Nigeria in May 2024 as part of the preparations for the annual event.
He said Harry and Meghan during their stay in the country, will be meeting with Service members and will be hosted to arrays of cultural activities.
He noted that Prince Harry, the Duke of Duchess, established the Invictus Games, an international multi-sport event, providing a recovery pathway for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women worldwide.

“It also gives soldiers awareness and recognition in society to support their path in rehabilitation.
“The Invictus games has about 500 participants at the last outing and 21 nations in attendance, including Nigeria which made a head ways with gold and silver at it’s first outing last year.
“The visit is to consolidate Nigeria strong hold at the game and the possibility of hosting the event later years,” he said.
The statement further revealed that Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Badaru, the Minister of Defence, who attended last year’s event in Germany, has expressed willingness to host the games in Nigeria when the opportunity arises.
