The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has organized a prayer session for the release of the eight members of the church who were kidnapped on Friday night.
The eight members were kidnapped by bandits at about 7 pm on Friday along Kachia Road.
Following the abduction, the kidnappers established contact with the leadership of the church, demanding 50 million ransom.
Reacting, Leke Adeboye, the last son and Senior Personal Assistant to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, in a post on his Instagram page urged Nigerians to join the intercession prayers.
The post reads, “ 1 hour global prayer intercession prayers for kidnapped members of RCCG in Kaduna State, 28th March 2021, 12am -1am on Zoom.”
Meanwhile the police in Kaduna State have launched a manhunt for the abductors of eight members of the church.
The Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, Mohammed Jalige, told journalists that the police were working closely with the leadership of the RCCG in Kaduna to ascertain the actual number of those abducted, with a view to rescuing them alive.
