Real Madrid have claimed the inaugural FIFA Intercontinental Cup after defeating Pachuca in a thrilling final.
The star-studded Los Blancos delivered a commanding performance, sealing a 3-0 victory.
Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring with a well-orchestrated goal following an excellent interplay between Jude Bellingham and Vinícius Jr.
Rodrygo doubled the lead eight minutes into the second half with a stunning strike, while Vinícius Jr. capped off the triumph with a penalty in the 84th minute.
This victory marks Real Madrid’s second trophy of the season, having already secured the UEFA Super Cup earlier in the summer.
With this win, Los Blancos remain on course to potentially clinch seven trophies by the end of the season.
In related news, Vinícius Jr. was named FIFA World Footballer of the Year on Tuesday night, while his coach, Carlo Ancelotti, was recognised as the FIFA Best Manager for 2024.
